I completed my master degree in Biochemistry (2016) and started the PhD in Chemistry (2019), both from University of Évora. Over the last years I have been involved in research of cultural heritage materials, in the main areas of graphical documents as photographic items and paper documents presenting several types of pathologies and iron gall inks and their devastating effects.

At the moment I’m involved in an interdisciplinary project, IRONIC – Iron Gall Ink Challenges – History and Conservation of a disappearing Cultural Heritage which includes the support of HERCULES laboratory (University of Évora), Centre for the Humanities – NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities (CHAM-FSCH) and Aragón Materials Science Institute (ICMA) and intends to develop an innovative nanotechnology-based kit for the treatment at point-of-care of the iron gall ink corrosion process.

Hobbies: I enjoy writing and riding horses
